WX 200 Weather Station Software (630-1015) Viewing the Weather Faxback Doc. # 38356 VIEWING THE WEATHER VIEWING OUTDOOR WEATHER CONDITIONS Your Radio Shack WX 200 Electronic Weather Station measures most weather conditions at 5-to 10-second intervals, and it sends data for all weather conditions through its RS-232 jack to your PC every 10 seconds at a rate of 9600 bps. You can view all weather data recorded by your WX 200 Weather Station in AccuWeather for Windows using the AccuWeather for Windows Weather Station window. To open or close the AccuWeather for Windows Weather Station window at any time (if necessary), click on Toggle the Weather Station Window on the button bar, or open the Window menu then select Show Weather Station. A Quick Look at the Weather Station Window The Weather Station window shows you all of the current outdoor weather conditions recorded by your WX 200, as well as some weather conditions automatically calculated by the software (such as the heat index) based on other recorded conditions. For a complete description of all weather information displayed in the Weather Station window, see "Outdoor Weather Conditions Listing." The Weather Station window's feature buttons let you access special features, such as a computer generated forecast and quick-graphs of the temperature or barometric pressure. Notes: If ND (no data) appears in any of the weather condition boxes (except for the Sunrise/Sunset or Moonrise/Moonset boxes), your computer is not receiving or is not able to display data. Be sure that: a. the WX 200 is properly installed and connected to your computer. b. your computer's weather station port is enabled. See "Troubleshooting," Faxback Doc. # 38362. c. the software is set to use the correct COM ports. The software automatically calculates the Sunrise/Sunset and Moonrise/Moonset times based on the latitude and longitude coordinates stored in the Setup For Your Weather Station window. If you did not enter this information, ND appears in those boxes. After connecting power or resetting the WX 200, you must set/reset the sea-level barometric pressure setting. Otherwise, the weather station will not accurately measure the local barometric pressure (and the condition displayed by your software will be incorrect). Outdoor Weather Conditions Listing This table lists and briefly describes all weather conditions that you can view on the Weather Station window. Notes: To find the measurement (sampling) frequency of any weather condition, see "Specifications," Faxback Doc. # 38352. Your software is preset to display the weather conditions in metric click on English or Metric. See "Using the Feature Buttons," Faxback Doc. # 38357.
